Another gem of a restaurant in Old Malia town, Crete. Leave the modern ‘scene’ area behind and walk up to the old town and there beside the church is the family run Greek cuisine restaurant. Lots of atmosphere, lovely menu, all food home cooked by ‘mum’ whilst ‘dad’ and his charming son welcome you in and explain what is on offer on the menu. Be aware there is a lot of it – we chose a mix of different Greek specialities to share and we could easily have shared it with another table but it was all beautiful and we managed most of it. Free top up of wine, and then gorgeous Greek yoghurt with honey. When we were full to bursting and wanted the bill it came with more tipples and more fruit. It was certainly more difficult to walk back to the hotel than it was to walk up there. It was so good we paid another visit on our last night. Very good value for money.
