We stayed at this B&B near the NEC because I was covering a stand at the 50+ show and we could not get into any of the NEC hotels due to other events. As the price of the B&B was comparable to that of the hotels (more expensive than a Premier Inn) I expected the accommodation to be of a good standard but I was very disappointed. The room was very overcrowded with fussy furniture and my bed was lumpy and I could feel the springs all night for both nights. The walls were also thin so we could hear the people in the next room talking very loudly. The controls for the central heating were behind one bed and the plugs for the bedside light and alarm clock were behind another – not plugged in so in order to read we had to move the bed and plug them in – it did not seem a very safe or satisfactory arrangement. Despite putting on my booking that we were both vegetarian the proprietor did not bother getting in any veggie sausages or anything and as I don't like beans or tomato, I was just given a plate with a small quantity of scrambled egg (no choice in how I had it) and some mushrooms. There was no yoghurt or fruit salad, rolls etc with the breakfast and juice was orange or nothing. We also got given a mix of brown and white toast again with no consultation. The next day the lady did get in some veggie sausages and hash browns but could she not have asked me by email what we wanted? I get very fed up paying as much as meat eaters for breakfast then getting very little. It was also noisy as it was near the airport but I can't blame the owner for that! I was not at all impressed with this establishment and could not recommend it at all.
