My sister in law held her 60th birthday dinner here back in January and it was well worth the travel from all attending from London, Bristol & the Gower! Excellent food, the chef even came out to wish her happy birthday! It’s a charming location too, a small country inn style building minutes from Skirrid Fawr and the Sugar Loaf in the Brecon Beacons. We’ll be back for future family occasions! We stayed in hotels in Abergavenny and did the 15/20 minute trip by taxi to the hotel so as not to miss out on the great wine list 🙂 There is also parking at the inn. I advise booking WELL ahead as this restaurant under various ownership is well known in Wales and beyond in culinary circles! Dress isn’t restrictively formal, but it’s such a good quality of food and atmosphere that you will want to look your best and enjoy the occasion.
