We visited The Vyne (a National Trust property) on a pleasant sunny day at the end of March. There was an attractive walk past lakes and willow trees to the main house. It is a very pleasant area to stroll around. There is a golf style buggy for the use of those unable or unwilling to walk to the house. The vegetable and fruit garden is a very well tended and has some chickens which have all been named by the people who work there.
The house is only open in the afternoon but it is worth timing your visit so that you can look around it, the Tudor Chapel being particularly interesting.
The restaurant has a fairly limited but good quality range of lunch food. I particularly enjoyed the home made soup.
