Situated on the edge of the Lake District, about 15 minutes off junction 36 of M6. The hotel is set back from main road up a sweeping drive with amazing views. Was originally a nunnery and still boasts the original alter in the chapel. Fabulous afternoon tea and stunning wedding venue. Staff so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Well worth a visit for a weekend if not longer.

Being so close to the Lakes there are plenty of places within 45 minutes to go spend time, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Bowness, Ulverston and Windermere.Candle Factory at Lindal in Furness and Dalton Wild Animal Park worth a visit. History your bag, go visit the Dock Museum in Barrow in Furness for the history of the submarines, and ship yard or take a walk round the ruins of Furness Abbey.

So much to and not enough time to do it all.
