Jenna Powell* reports for Silver Travel Advisor on a weekend break at the luxurious Tower Hotel – it certainly made her weekend !
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
The Tower Hotel is part of the Guoman company who have an exclusive collection of hotels in central London. The Tower Hotel is a 4 star luxury hotel boasting a perfect location at the heart of London, surrounded by centuries of history and outstanding architecture. The hotel’s ideal location allows you to take in the unique breathtaking views of two of London’s most iconic landmarks and World Heritage Sites – Tower Bridge and The Tower of London as well as providing panoramic views of the River Thames and St Katharine’s Docks. The Tower Hotel is also conveniently situated near South Bank, the City, the O2 Arena, Canary Wharf and ExCel and with excellent transport links getting out and about from The Tower Hotel is no problem at all.
THE HOTEL’S FACILITIES
The Tower Hotel prides itself on having an outstanding level of customer service, and certainly for me they ticked all the right boxes! The Hotel caters for every individual need and preference; with nothing being too much trouble! There’s a wide range of superb facilities ranging from state of the art gym facilities to exclusive relaxing lounges. Every room at The Tower is designed to reflect the building’s individual architecture, style and character. There’s an abundance of natural light and I found the hotel to be vibrant and contemporary.
All rooms are spacious with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, Egyptian cotton bed-linen and wireless broadband internet access. Room service is also available 24 hours a day. You will also find a range of finishing touches in your room to make your stay just that little bit more luxurious! I had a Premier Executive room for my stay and this gave me exclusive access to the Executive Lounge on the 5th floor. Here I was able to relax to the backdrop of magnificent views surrounding the hotel with complimentary beverages, snacks and pastries available throughout the day along with complimentary Wi-Fi and daily newspapers and private check in and out.
RESTAURANT AND BAR
When staying in London why look any further than your hotel for dinner, especially when it’s of the standard offered by The Tower!
I had dinner at The Brasserie Restaurant and had a truly superb dining experience! The Brasserie is a modern, welcoming restaurant with great food and excellent service whilst you continue to enjoy the sensational views of this part of London. The Brasserie is Guoman’s flagship restaurant and the menu reflects the diverse culinary influences of their head chef and his team. With its relaxed atmosphere and informal dress code, The Brasserie was an excellent choice. Next to The Brasserie is the Xi Bar & Lounge and this is a perfect place to relax. With a wide selection of light snacks, beers, wines and cocktails, this was an oasis of calm in busy London!
All too soon my weekend city break was over. I had a wonderful time made all the more perfect by the friendly and professional team at The Tower Hotel. You can book a break for two at The Tower from £109 per night including breakfast and VAT. Have a look at their website for more information and to see more photos and a video tour. www.guoman.com/thetower
