The recently refurbished Swan Hotel at Lavenham is the perfect choice for a stay in this beautiful corner of England. Lavenham is one of England's best preserved medieval towns and the Swan is a collection of black and white timbered houses dating back to the 15th century which, together, make up this very impressive hotel.
As it was our wedding anniversary I splashed out on a Feature room which – like the rest of the hotel – had been sympathetically and stylishly updated with the historical building – exposed beams and decor blending beautifully. On the ground floor there are plenty of places to relax and unwind whilst enjoying one of the Swan's excellent cream teas. The restaurant was exceptionally good and the food and service first class. In fact the service throughout our stay could not be faulted.
From time to time the hotel offers special packages which offer very good value. www.theswanatlavenham.co.uk.
