The Star, Rainford is just off the A570 and easy to get to. There is ample parking. We went after a walk, booking is necessary prior to going as it was extremely busy and people were waiting throughout out visit, this wasn’t a problem as we could have a drink in the bar prior to eating.
The decoration is a little dated however the welcome was friendly.
The menu sports a good selection of food and the portions are generous. The service was quick and attentive and prices reasonable. The food was good, well cooked and worth the wait.
The only issue I found was that it was too hot inside the pub but all in, this is the best pub food in the area as it is more restaurant than pub.
All in all, a nice place to eat.
