Reasons for trip

Personal / family celebration

Due to the one way system, it can be quicker to walk from the train station than to get a taxi, and on a fine day with a small overnight bag it makes a very pleasant stroll. The hotel has been converted from an old dairy, so although there is no garden the yard has been converted into a car park and a boardwalk constructed in the covered exit from it alongside the ground floor of the hotel ,so that guests can sit outside without worrying about the weather, passers by or traffic. There is another entrace to the covered car park at the back so there are no traffic jams or exhaust fumes to worry about. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable with lots of luxurious touches to make life more comfortable, for instance a little fridge with milk, juice and water provided so that you never have to wrestle with those little plastic pots with the glued on foil lids in order to have a cup of tea! Each room has an en suite shower rather than a bath, but there are no cramped spaces involved; the spacious bathroom has a huge walk in shower with two showerheads (one fixed for a rainfall-like experience and one powerful but adjustable) and a comfy robe is provided in addition to a large compliment of fluffy towels. The food is delicious, and although the breakfast menu is large and varied don't feel limited by it – adjustments and requests from guests are welcomed and quickly catered for. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful; genuinely pleased to be of service but never obtrusive.
