This is an adult only B&B approx. five minutes walk away from Boscombe Pier and about a thirty minute walk to Bournemouth.

Location: In the middle of Boscome, which is rather run down, but for pedestrian access to the coast path, you can’t beat it. We walked to Mudeford sands (about 5 miles) which has fabulous Dorset coastal views and a wonderful nature reserve. From Mudeford we took the ferry across to Christchurch then the bus back to Boscombe. A great day out.

Facilities: Room was large for a B&B – shower was OK and not too small, hairdryer available, space for hanging clothes, a TV, efficient wifi, a fridge and fresh milk on request, Dorset tea, plus coffee, hot chocolate and complimentary bottled water. We stayed for two days and towels are kept for both days. Toiletries are provided and I am glad to say they are not in single use plastic bottles – instead they are large multi use dispensers. There is no bar in the hotel. Parking for about eight cars on the front. Bed was 4ft 6 which is always a squeeze but comfortable with decent pillows (one of my things!). We were on the main road and because of the heat wave had the window open. Although there was some traffic noise, it didn’t go on late into the night and caused no issue.

Food: Breakfast had plenty of choice including fresh, not tinned, tomatoes and fresh mushrooms with the cooked breakfast. You could also have cereal, porridge, whole fruit, yoghurt and toast (toaster provided). .

Service: Debbie the owner is exceptionally helpful and gave us the directions we needed for our little jaunt. She can also recommend restaurants nearby and we were not disappointed. Overall, the service is friendly and professional.

As children are not catered for, I think this would work well for the silver traveller. You don’t need to be super fit to get to the beach and if you don’t like walking, the bus station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel, as is the town centre. I don’t think there was a lift so may not be suitable for all.

If however, like us, you like to walk, then this is an excellent base.
