This pub was bought by Shakin’ Stevens in 2014 and his changes have caused it come into it’s own to compete with the local Inn Restaurants and Pubs.
The atmosphere is casual and the bar and waitress staff are attentive and friendly and helpful.
There is a lounge & bar and then a separate room with the main share of tables. There is a beer garden at the back with ample seating for up to 12 parties at picnic tables.
I enjoyed my meal very much which was home made fare. I have never been disappointed yet by the service or the atmosphere or most of all the qualify of food an drink.
It is located across from the Public Toilets near the Monnow River and Monnow Covered Bridge and near the town car park.
