Reasons for trip

Just back from being treated to a two night stay at this great restaurant with rooms. It was a birthday surprise for me and probably one of the best I have had in a long time. The service was superb. All the staff we met were courteous, friendly and attentive and made you feel special. It is an impressive building set in beautiful grounds with a walled vegetable garden that is magnificent. Our bedroom which was in the “courtyard” was spacious, well equipped with a free standing bath in the bedroom and an ensuite wet room. We did, however, find a dirty unwashed cup in the larder and a pair of old socks under the bath!!! The restaurant, like other Pig establishments we have visited, was set in a conservatory and although extremely busy on both nights this did not impact on the service or quality of food. The 25 mile menu has plenty to choose from and the cooking is superb. Breakfast too is scrummy but not included in your room rate. There is a choice of £15, £10 or £8 options. We had such a good time and have promised ourselves a return visit in the not too distant future.
