To celebrate my 60th birthday my daughter booked for us to go to the Old Coach House for a half day pamper. We drove across the moors and through lovely countryside to get there. The centre is in beautiful surroundings by the river Colne. We were met by Suzanne who is the owner and she took us through our session. We started by filling in a medical form and then it was on to lunch in the huge vintage style kitchen. Our lunch consisted of Homemade soup, crusty bread and a selection of salads. This was followed by a chocolate tart with fresh berries and cream. There was water and elderflower cordial to drink, plus teas and coffee. After lunch we were taken to a beautiful bedroom to get changed into swimming costumes and robes. Then back downstairs and out onto the terrace where the Lotus room was. Inside there was a huge hot tub and a sauna for us to use. Or if we preferred, we could sit or lay on one of the comfy seats on the terrace which was a real suntrap. We did a bit of everything and had a relaxing hour and a half. The final part of our session was a treatment of our choice. We both chose the head, shoulders and back massage. We were taken off to seperate treatment rooms, my daughter with Suzanne and myself with Margaret who is Suzannes mother. I can only describe the treatment as blissful. It was so relaxing that I kept dropping off to sleep. Margaret assured me that I didnt snore though! The centre is beautiful throughout, with a very vintage theme. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing and there were candles and incense burning and gentle music playing. I would highly recommend a visit and cant wait to go again.
