Hotels are not common in Frome unless they are also pubs, so this “boutique” B&B seemed the best option.

The good points:
– Very well positioned near the centre of town, the house is a beautiful Grade II listed building with delightful gardens, antiques and wooden floors.
– The tea tray had real coffee, different teas and milk kept in a fridge just outside the room.
– It was very quiet at night
– The bed in my room (Sunflower) was very comfortable and there was a stylish shower/wet room.
– Breakfast was lovely if you like a cold compilation – breads, pastries, cheese, hams and fresh fruit salad with yoghurt.
– the owner (Gina) was very kind and helpful
– there is off road parking available
– the bathroom offered a range of products
– Free wifi

The not so good:
– My room had no key, so you might be concerned (probably unnecessarily) about security and safety at night from other guests/family
– The tea was not replenished for my second night, and the coffee pot not washed although the bed was made.
– Breakfast did not appear to offer hot options e.g. eggs and bacon
– Breakfast was not served until rather late (after 9 am)
– the soundproofing from downstairs was poor so I heard conversations and a baby crying
– it seemed very expensive for a B & B despite the pleasant surroundings and facilities as unlike a hotel where guests are important at all times, I felt rather like an unwelcome relative during the day/evening as family life went on
– Frome itself is very hilly and this B & B had rooms upstairs, so not very good for less mobile guests
