The Lamb Inn is situated in the lovely old village of Great Rissington. This is a quiet part of the Cotswolds but one is never far away from another village, i.e. only 6 miles and there is Bourton on the Water to explore. This historical inn has loads of character and there is a good choice of rooms and suites – some overlooking the garden having beautiful country views to the rear of the property. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well furnished with a bright, modern bathroom. There was a generous hospitality tray and a plentiful supply of toiletries. The upstairs staircase was rather narrow and twisting to negotiate but we soon got the hang of it!
We received a warm welcome from Paul, one of the owners, and the rest of the staff who were friendly and attentive. Was impressed with the layout of the dining area where we enjoyed a delicious evening meal and full English breakfasts from a good choice on the menu. Seems to be a popular place to eat and drink as there were quite a few visitors to chat to – some from Australia and the States. This inn has a very good atmosphere and is a great place for a country break.
