My husband and I travel frequently from West Wales to Milton Keynes to visit our son. This weekend we decided to break the journey both ways and chose the Kings Head Inn, Birdwood on the A40 to stay overnight. The Inn has a large restaurant and several B&B rooms. The accommodation in a twin room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable with tea making facilities, TV and ensuite. There were clean soft towels available and soaps and shampoo The room was £60 per night including full English breakfast (good value) and very quiet facing away from the road. We were able to check in quite late and have an early breakfast and although on the second morning we were the only residents, the service was friendly and on time with choice of fruit juice, cereal, various cooked options, toast and coffee. I must say that Monday to Friday at lunchtime and from 6-8pm they offer a choice of roast meal for only £2.99 which was also very good value. We would be happy to stay there again.
