Reasons for trip

I have been a customer of this national chain for over 30 years and the quality of the food and service never fails to please, whichever city. Recently I took my aunt there for dinner after we’d been to see a play and we were not disappointed. It was my first time at this particular Keg as it is across town and not an area I go to often. Since it was late afternoon, we did not have to wait for a table.

We both chose steaks off the classic menu which includes a Caesar salad, an 8oz sirloin steak done to your specifications, fried mushrooms, vegetable garnish (which were enough vegetables for me – a mixture of crisp green beans and red peppers) and a baked potato. I forgot to take a photo before the meal as it all looked and smelled so good and I was hungry. This meal also comes with a freshly baked loaf of bread to share – a round cob. We also both had a glass of wine each. Neither of us were able to finish the meal – hence the photo of my leftovers once I got home, packaged in separate “green” containers inside a Keg paper bag. However, we did manage to sample a mini dessert each with our coffees: fudge brownie served with ice cream and whipped cream.

The service was prompt, friendly and attentive and the food delicious!

The remainder of my steak and mushrooms and half my baked potato made a delicious meal the next day with some fresh veggies.

In checking out the website for this review I discovered there’s one opening up only ten minutes away from me next month, hmmm.

Usually reservations are not accepted but they are on Fridays and Saturdays. Despite the name, they do also serve chicken and seafood but I always have steak.
