This is just exactly what I want in a hotel – wonderfully comfortable beds, top quality bedding,a really excellent shower and style in spades, as you would expect from the originator of the Pret a manger chain. It is, however, not at all a luxury hotel and prides itself on its budget prices- which get cheaper, the further ahead you book. You don't get breakfast, or rather you do but it arrives in a pret a manger brown paper bag and contains a muesli yoghurt, a banana and a fresh orange juice. There is already, good tea and coffee in your room along with a fridge, containing water and, praise be, proper milk. The location is special too. Ideal for Liverpool Street and its onward connections to airports, it is right on the bus route into Oxford Street and a step away from Old Street tube , though remember which exit to emerge from. All around are good restaurants, many of them Vietnamese and there is also a very good grill in the Hoxton itself. TV, internet etc are as up to date as can be and the staff are pleasant, capable and mainly foreign but none the worse for that. Whenever I know I am going to be in the capital, I rush to book in at the Hoxton, knowing that I am in for a treat, and above all, a good night's sleep.
