I had won a spa day at Grayshott Spa (see separate review) and my sister and I decided to stay overnight nearby beforehand so that we could start our spa day early. I chose the Georgian Hotel in Haslemere from an internet search and on arrival it was easy to find from the railway station. (Although Haslemere seems to be split into two parts so you need to turn left out of the station to find the High Street). It is right in the centre of the High Street and is an attractive old white building. The staff were lovely and greeted us warmly. Our room was great and the hotel has it’s own spa area (which we didn’t take advantage of but which looks really nice). They have small gardens at the back and when we went to sit out there for a while, a waitress arrived almost immediately to see if we wanted a drink. She returned regularly to see if we wanted anything else and she was so chatty and friendly it was delightful. Having had a walk up the High Street we decided that the best place to eat seemed to be the hotel so we dined there that night. Although they were having renovations done at the time, there was no inconvenience caused by this and again the service was impeccable. The food was very good and the wine was tasty and not too expensive.
In summary, this is a lovely friendly hotel with nothing to fault it. Well worth a visit!
