My partner and myself together with my mother had arranged to travel on the Queens Jubilee weekend from our homes in Birmingham to East Sussex for my grandsons christening on the Sunday. I had booked a little family run b and b 5 miles from my sons address for 2 nights starting on Saturday and for us to return home the following Monday.
When we arrived, the patrons unfortunately had to go out but had left us a note and a plate of home made scones, we were told to treat the place like our own. The b and b has only 3 rooms, my partner and i had a double room and my mother a single, we shared a bathroom, the other family room was occupied on the first night by a couple that had been to a wedding and on the second night by a fmily with 2 small children who had been to London to see the flotilla.
The b and b has earned a gold star and is 4 star rated, it also has a breakfast award.
Our hosts, Annemaria and Ray were very charming and took the time to chat to us, nothing was too much trouble for them, Ray is American and we took advantage of the american breakfast on the 2nd morning, pancakes with maple syrup, crispy bacon and scrambled egg, delicious i may add.
The b and b itself was very clean and comfortable and we will definitely recommend to our friends and return ourselves.
I also feel that it was very good value for money at £60 per night for our room and £40 for mothers.
A very enjoyable stay.
