The Gallery, Ambleside, is a wonderful 5 star studio apartment, converted from an old coach house and situated down a private country lane. We stayed there for a week at the end of January and were delighted with the whole experience. The open plan accommodation is very tastefully furnished with a real sense of space. It incorporates a fully equipped kitchen, sitting in it's own corner, a lovely dining area and a large lounge area where you can look out at the scenery, including a glimpse of lake Winderemere.
The king sized bed is complemented by light, maple storage units, containing books, DVDs, CDs and local literature information. Ample wardrobe space and drawers, with panels of glass in the doors, give a really nice effect. The luxurious bathroom has a whirlpool bath with a power shower and neat, white vanity units against one wall.
There is private parking for 1 car. A traditional entrance porch has a cupboard for outdoor clothing, before ascending a lovely wide staircase leading to the first floor accommodation, and a wonderful warmth greets you when you open the door to the apartment. This was especially welcome after returning from a day touring around. It is obviously well insulated which makes the central heating effective. Should you visit in the summer months, there is a large floor standing fan to keep you cool!
There are so many places to see around the area, which makes this accommodation an ideal base to stay. Even in January, you will see from the photos, there are some spectacular places to visit and photograph.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending 'The Gallery' as a place to stay if you are visiting the Lakes. Lake lovers are very helpful in ensuring you have everything you need to have an enjoyable stay.
