The hotel accommodation is in chalets which each have a small verandah overlooking gardens except ours which unfortunately was at the bottom of the hill and faced a blank wall! When making a reservation here, it would be advisable to ask for one close to the main part of the hotel at the top of the hill. We had 44 steps to negotiate which kept us fit but might not suit everyone! The hotel is well located in the village with lots of wonderful shops selling a wide variety of goods including jewelry, clothes, wall hangings etc all within walking distance.

We were woken early by the sound of a cock crowing. There is a small aviary of birds, including chickens, by the side of the hotel. We watched one of the best displays of traditional dancing that we saw during our stay in India at this hotel performed by two young girls aged 11 and 12.

We would have liked to have stayed here a little longer as there is a lot to see in the area. Many hotels in India including The Elephant Court arrange a buffet in the evenings allowing people to select and sample a variety of local food. The additional advantage is that service can be slow for a la carte in India.
