Our recent visit to Durham, retracing my steps from the days when I lived there, included trying to find a decent pub that remains unspoiled by the noisy student population of the city, loud music, and sky sports!
In the Dun Cow, we succeeded! It’s a small, old, half-timbered black and white building, squeezed in between two newer ones, and provides a range of real ales, good pub food, and a room for the night if you should need one. I enjoyed the beer, and didn’t see a tv screen nor hear a jukebox. Heaven!
