Just steps from St Andrew’s Square in Edinburgh sits the luscious Dome, a luxuriously comfortable venue in which to meet friends for drinks or a meal. The city does not lack for cozy bars where one can sip a wee dram, Campari Spritz or espresso, but the Dome sets the standard. The vast space with potted plants, comfy tables and attentive staff nevertheless maintains an intimate feel. The bar is tastefully appointed and inviting for single imbibers. Though not stuffy, I enjoy dressing up a bit for a late afternoon or early evening visit here. All ages are represented among the clientele, and Silver Travelers will find the Dome especially inviting.
