We booked a very special 2 night deal via Travelzoo which gave us dinner, bed and breakfast for an excellent price. The hotel is located on Bournemouth's East Cliff right on the seafront. It is an Art Deco style building and has a good size pool and sun deck in front. Check in was easy and the staff very very helpful. After seeing our standard room and after exploring the hotel, we asked how much it would cost to upgrade to a sea view room. They had to juggle their existing bookings but for a small amount, we had a huge room on the first floor with a large astro turfed balcony. Well worth the extra money! The room had a comfortable bed, sofa, chair and table and tea and coffee making facility. The bathroom was adequate but was a little old. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was buffet style with hot full English, cereals, toast, fruits, yogurts and pastries. Dinner (included in our package) was 3 courses with a choice of 4 items for each course. Portions were large and tasty, particularly the starters and desserts! The location is within walking distance of Bournemouth Pier and Park – maybe 15 to 20 minutes on foot. We could walk to Boscombe Pier in the other direction. We were told that parking was limited but we always managed to get a place. This was excellent value and a good base for exploring the area.
