One night's accommodation including a two course dinner chosen from the a la carte menu and breakfast for £145. This was the deal, and what a great stay my wife and I had.
Stoke-by-Nayland is one of these sleepy little villages in Constable country where this time of year the views were fabulous.
The Crown is a privately owned village inn with a great restaurant and alongside you'll find the accommodation which is a boutique hotel completed in 2008. There are 11 luxury ensuite rooms and my wife and I had room 108. This was stylishly furnished with a huge bathroom. Close by you can visit the timeless villages of Lavenham, Kersey and Long Melford.
The rooms are located to the rear of the property overlooking open countryside. We had a warm welcome and this was a great short break.
The dining area was relaxed and the food choice and quality very good. There's an extensive wine list and they now have their own in house wine shop where you can choose from a selection of over 200 wines which acan be drunk with your meal or taken home.
The following morning the breakfast was superb and set us up for another day exploring this area before our return home to Kent.
