You cannot visit Liverpool and not visit The Cavern club, birthplace of a number of bands and singers in the 50's and 60's. The entrance currently in use isn't the original, that is just a little further down Mathew street and is now a shop front. Access is by 4 flights of stairs which drops you into the bowels of the building above. I didn't see any disabled access. The original area is vaulted brickwork and there are exhibits, signed memorabilia and video screens around the bar area and a band set up where the Beatles and others played, the place is steeped in musical history and the atmosphere must have been amazing. I liked the red phone box in the bar. To the rear the club opens out into a newer area where gigs are now played. There is a wifi hotspot inside. Entrance is free early on, charges apply when there are bands on or later in the day. if you like music, it is definitely worth a visit.
