I stayed at the Cairn Hotel for 4 nights in a twin room on a budget coach trip in November. I was very impressed with the standard of what was one of their cheaper rooms. It was spacious, high ceilinged with a large window. The ensuite had a bath with a very good shower over it, and was, like the bedroom, an excellent size. The rooms were very warm and the temperature could be easily controlled with the radiators. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms quiet. Due to covid regulations the servicing of the room was only to the door with anything left outside our door being replaced each day. Plentiful supplies of tea, coffee and good quality biscuits were provided daily, with decaff drinks included. The whole hotel has an air of solidity, old pomp and splendour to it, with a lovely central grand staircase.
Meals were provided in a large dining room with magnificent stained glass windows, and were of a good standard and quantity for the price we paid.
The hotel is a straight 8-10 min walk to the Town centre. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel to get into town.
Alternatively we paid a taxi £8 to go into town and £5 back to the hotel.
