We arrived at this, our favourite hotel just after lunch on 30/12/19 and checked into our room about 2pm.
We have stayed here a few times and always have a sea view. Our room was almost perfect. My only criticism was that the wardrobe was not really a double size!
Our little Jack Russel accompanied us on this occasion and was very well behaved throughout.
Our evening meal was of the high standard we have come to expect. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a good breakfast sitting by the window watching the calm sea! We took a walk with the dog in beautiful sunshine along he shore.
Mid afternoon the Hotel served residents with delicious home made scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. By now the Hotel was closed to the general public.
As the evening advanced the atmosphere became electric. A Scottish Piper played the bagpipes, while we sipped a sparkling wine.
The diners were very tightly packed into the dining room, we hadn’t seen the Menu or been emailed it by the Reception so we had no idea what was to come. The choices served to us was I’m afraid disappointing to myself wife and I. Possibly the chef wanted to push the boundaries with his accomplishments The dining room was very noisy throughout. I concede that we were simply a table for two and there were larger groups obviously out to enjoy themselves but that does not mean you can behave in a roudy way. This break was not cheap and possibly our expectations were for a different experience.
We will return to this Hotel in the future as we love it so much and it location couldn’t be better. The staff are great and most accommodatin. There is so much to do in this part of Suffolk.
