We stayed at this hotel on a Groupon deal in October. Our well-equipped room overlooked the small river which gushed by and the gardens were also situated next to it so I think it would be a delightful place to sit in spring/summer. The food was excellent, served in an orangery style restaurant. Breakfast a combination of buffet and waiter service and evening meals which were superb. There are several bar areas in the old building, with log fires and cosy sofas. Everything you could wish for in a relaxing weekend. The village itself is very nice, in an area where a few celebs are known to live.
