We stopped for lunch at this busy pub restaurant in the centre of Lancaster. The Borough is a Grade II listed Georgian town house in Dalton Square near the Town Hall. The building used to be the home of the Mayor of Lancaster and after recent development it now has it’s own brewery and en-suite rooms. So not only is it in the CAMRA good beer guide, but it has also won a “Taste Lancashire” award with supplies from local sources.
Two of our party had Fish & Chips, one had Morecambe Bay Mariners Pie and I had Lancashire Hotpot. With our drinks, the bill totalled £62.20. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The waiting on staff were friendly, polite and efficient.
I would advise you to order your drinks at the bar first and take them to your table, as the bar staff were busy serving customers at the bar before the diners. Our companions were getting anxious, as they were worried about the car parking charges. Of course the food was freshly prepared and well worth the wait. So put plenty of cash into the parking meter beforehand!
