My wife and I, along with many of those around us in the audience, were left speechless at the end of this exhilarating performance. The least we could do was to stand and applaud for what seemed like a long time, with “Wow” being the only word that would come to our lips!
This was undoubtedly the best show we have ever seen in our lives, and we have seen many both locally where we live, and in London. I guess that when you go to see Cirque du Soleil, you know you’re in for circus-type acts – trapeze, acrobats etc – blended with both traditional and modern dance. Add to this a stunning blend of Beatles’ songs from across the years, incredible ever-changing stage and sets, stunts on both trampolines and roller blades – all illuminating the lyrics of the music that has been the sound track to our lives – and you have not just a memorable show but one that is unforgettable.
You’ve never seen an ‘Octopus’s Garden’ like this one, whether ‘In The Shade’ or not! There were octopuses and jellyfish appearing from everywhere including the roof, floating around the auditorium and seemingly ‘dancing’ across the theatre. The scene set to ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ fantasised with bubbles blown everywhere around and over the stage, and the audience were draped in a huge sheet alive with psychedelic patterns and colours during ‘Within You, Without You’. Amazing!
We left the theatre with only one thought – when can we go back and see it again? The answer is definitely – the next time we’re in Las Vegas! Go and see it if you can – you will certainly not be disappointed!
