Perched high-up overlooking St. Ouen’s Bay this is a luxury hotel with its own indoor pool and health club as well as an outdoor pool. Our lovely room overlooked this pool and straight out to the ocean beyond, where we had glorious sunsets to ooh and aah over! Moulton Brown are to be found in the bathrooms of this 50 room delightfully interior designed building, with fresh fruit and bottled water provided daily. There is a lift so no problems for those with any disability.

The Michelin starred Ocean dining room obviously provides fine dining, but we found the servings miniscule, over-rated and pretentious to the extreme. But, being one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it is only to be expected. However the restaurant service we received on the second night of our three night stay was not equal to that by any means and really let them down extremely badly. So much so that we ordered room service on the final night.

While absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the staff in general and The Atlantic may have won “Best International Hotel 2015” we did feel it no-where qualified for this award and could have nominated better and less expensive establishments.

As much as we enjoyed our stay would we return? Perhaps, but certainly not for the dining experience.
