I’d like to say that I am discerning but, actually, I suspect that I am fussy! The Anchor Inn, however, surpassed my expectations. A stunning location on the waterside and is steeped in history being about 450 years old. Originally opened as a Seamans Mission it was, reputedly, a haven for smugglers as well as seamen.
The menu suits all tastes but specialises in fish. I only had a prawn sandwich. I say ‘only’ – it was like no other prawn sandwich I have ever eaten – and I’ve eaten lots! Wish I’d had the time and appetite for more, I will return one day!
