We had a lunch time cruise on this riverboat which was a very pleasant way to spend several relaxing hours in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tables were reserved and we had one next to the window and close to the band – which consisted of three people playing and singing a mix of country, gospel and folk in an enjoyable but not intrusive way. There was also a bar on this level and another bar with outside tables on the upper deck.
Lunch was semi buffet style – we queued up to be served chicken and then helped ourselves to vegetable and salad. Dessert was brought to the table. The meal was fine but unexciting; some soft drinks were included in the price (about£20) and service was swift and friendly. After lunch we went onto the upper deck with coffee and looked at the paddle wheels and then watched the scenery go by – one bank was mainly green and wooded, the other started with views of Knoxville buildings such as the stadium then continued onto expensive housing. We then turned around and went back to the pier in central Knoxville where we had parked the car.
We enjoyed our lunch and afternoon as it was very relaxed and friendly, a good way to spend some time after several busy days.
