In May my wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Tamarind Hotel in Barbados. From the moment we arrived until we left it felt really special. Our room was upgraded to a suite with a view over the pool and Caribbean beyond and a bottle of wine and card awaited us congratulating us on our anniversary. We went on a tour of a rum distillery and picnic with the hotel and both were really excellent with informative and helpful guides. We had breakfast only included and this was delicious and plentiful. The managers of the hotel hold a cocktail evening once a week to meet the guests and this was really interesting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had one evening meal at the hotel – a Caribbean buffet – this again was very good. The hotel is close to Holetown – about 20-25 minute walk but some of the way there is no footpath. We used local buses most of the time – one barbadian dollar to anywhere on the island. Overall a really special holiday and would go back anytime.
