Visitng Ankor Wat in Cambodia is an amazing day out but requires an early start because it does get very hot. The best of all the temples for me was Ta Prohm. This is the one where the ancient tree roots have taken over the ruins and hang over the ancient walls like water running down a mountain crag. It’s famous for the being the site of the Tomb Raiders film staring Angelina Jolie. To be honest having already visited three other ruined temples we were a little temple weary but this lifted us all. It was a real WOW! moment. Spectacular even! It’s a real must on any tour of Cambodia. The ticket you buy admits entry to all the temples so do give yourselves plenty of time. We went on an coach trip but the local guides in Siem Reap are happy to take you out there on their tuk-tuks! A good experience albeit a little bumpy I would imagine. Although all the temples are in one area they are not within walking distance of each other.
