Opposite the Chapel just along from the bus stops, we made a special journey to this little corner restaurant as they always did a great Maltese Platter (see previous reviews). What a disappointment. It has been divided into two tiny sections, very different from each other, and where we expected to find the comfortable, friendly bar and platter is now a tiny restaurant with just 16 covers and a counter that takes up 1/3 of the floor space.
Ask for a menu? No need, they only do two dishes with pork or traditional beef rolls. Every time someone entered, the owner had to explain the same thing and lots of people went away without stopping. He offered us a mixed plate to share, which was good, but pricey at €23 including two glasses of red wine.
It has only been open for two weeks, but I cannot see how it can continue like this for very long. No menu, but they could provide a notice with photograph of two main dishes plus the mixed plate to save having to explain it to everyone. We wouldn’t visit again, but it may improve in the coming months. Maybe someone could do an up-date later in the year?
