Had not been to Gloucester in years so was looking forward to visiting with my wife and two friends, all over 60 but still reasonably active! We booked the Apartment (on the top floor – happy for the lift!) through Sykes Cottages and were reasonably happy with the accommodation and view though a balcony would have been nice!
We used the three days to visit some of the surrounding countryside and were not disappointed, including one delightful National Trust property.
There were plenty of eating places around the property and we had three perfectly acceptable evening meals within easy walking distance of the apartment.
The main disappointment was the lack of car parking. There was only one allocated car parking space with the apartment so we had to park our car in a nearby public car park, which had slight security concerns.
Overall though, a very enjoyable break in a different part of the country.
