Have visited Sydney before and just loved it. The airport is teeny-tiny, you’re out really quickly and car hire is a couple of hundred yards’ walk away. So much to see and do. Best approached via the ferry from Manly, as the boat turns the corner you get this wonderful view of the Opera House and the bridge. Just stunning.
Go see the Aborigine playing the didgeridoo on the harbour front. He’s great!
Visit the Rocks market at the weekend. Really different goods on sale there as well as lovely cafes and a great atmosphere.
Worth having dinner up the Sydney Eye, great views, and lovely being there as the sun goes down.
We went to see Madama Butterfly at the Opera House. A great experience – except trying to eat beforehand, you’re battling with early opera-goers as well as after-work drinkers – get there early!
Sealife centre worth doing too, the only place we saw a koala or a kangaroo!
A long way to go but well worth it, and a good base for further travels around Oz.
