Reasons for trip

We were full of excitement as we arrived at Spain’s Malaga airport on route to our holiday destination The Sunset Beach Club on The Costa Del Sol.

I was travelling with my 82 year old disabled mother and this hotel had been recommended by Silver Travel as a resort that would be a suitable holiday location for us. After a short 20 minute cab ride we arrived at the hotel. Even though we had arrived quite late in the evening it was not a problem as the hotel had 24hour reception.

We were greeted by welcoming efficient and very helpful staff and after a very painless check in we were being escorted up to our room. We had booked a twin apartment self-catering with sea view. As we had arrived late in the evening I decided to get my mother bedded down for the night choosing to inspect our room in the light of the day.

We woke the next morning and the view of the sea from our balcony was quite stunning. The room was airy and light and was spotlessly clean it was fully equipped with everything you would need for your stay. As my mother is disabled accessibility is always a concern but the hotel caters for both disabled and able bodied guests and we managed everything with ease.

After having breakfast on the balcony and a quick wash and brush up we decided to venture out and see what the hotel had to offer. It is quite a large hotel but has 3 lifts giving easy access to all floors. The hotel has its own supermarket as well as an in house bakery, gift shop and a hair and beauty salon. It has a large restaurant which also has a takeout service so if you don’t feel like going out every night you can order from your room and collect your meal in around 10 minutes. The hotel bar is on the 6th floor with views over the sea and serves coffee as well as alcohol. It has luxurious sofas as well as the usual table and chairs and is tastefully decorated and very comfortable.

We had two outside pools to choose from as well as a kiddie’s pool and bar and enough sunbeds to accommodate everyone.

The one thing the hotel did not have was a launderette however a laundry service was provided for guests.

You could stay inside the hotel for you entire stay is you so wished as everything is supplied on site with daily activities for all ages and evening entertainment. If however, you do choose to go site seeing the hotel offers a full range of trips which they will book for you.

As the hotel is located on the front it is only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The shopping areas, markets and nearby towns are only a short bus ride away. Again, the hotel offers all information to enable to reach your destination.

We had a great holiday as everything had been thought of to make your stay enjoyable and I would not hesitate to recommending it to anyone disabled or otherwise.
