One day last summer my sister and I stopped in at the “Stratford Country Club Restaurant”:http://stratfordcountryclub.ca/restaurant-patio/ for lunch as she’d heard very good things about the food on offer.
The entrance we used required us to go up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant but if you enter from the opposite side where the patio is it may be easier for those with mobility issues.
My sister tried the half grilled cheese sandwich (thick hand cut house made white bread filled with a roasted garlic two cheese spread and cheddar and provolone cheese, cooked until crisp and served with house made banana pepper ketchup) with a small health nut salad (mixed greens topped with cranberries, pecan pieces, cashews, toasted pumpkin seeds, red onion and cranberry goat cheese) for $12 and I tried the small health nut salad with a side of crispy chicken tenders for $14. We were both very pleased with our choices. The meals were on the light side given the heat of the day and we had our eyes on dessert later in the day at “Kandy Cakes”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review?id=203345 after going to see “Private Lives”:https://www.silvertraveladvisor.com/review?id=199321 in the early afternoon at the Avon Theatre. And, yes, we might have had ice creams at intermission as well.
There is a full view of the golf course through the floor to ceiling windows and in good weather you can sit outside and enjoy the view from the patio. We chose to sit inside because it was a hot and humid day and we both feel the heat keenly. The décor is very basic and the atmosphere can get a bit rowdy with golfers but we’ll definitely be back to try something else on the menu.
