Reasons for trip

As a first time visitor to Stanwick Lakes, and being what I call a mobile Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferer in that I need no wheelchair or sticks, I was pleasantly surprised at the layout of the amenities at Stanwick Lakes.

The smart main visitors centre, including a lovely cafe, and also the large childrens play area with a separate barbeque area behind it, and the slightly more rustic smaller cafe and toilet block, are all within just a few metres of the car park and on relatively flat ground.

There are ample picnic benches provided, and for the more adventurous a number of signposted walks through the beautiful woodland and lakes.

Fun and fresh air for all the family, all for the maximum parking fee of £5.50 per car.
