Stanley villa is sold as a Glamping experience where by you sleep in camping pods arranged around a central green used by children for playing.
It stands out as there are fire pits to use and a fire is a great addition to any camping experience. Firewood was £5 per bag.
First of all the site is convenient for Blackpool as it is just 15 Minutes away, there is also a large fishing lake and communal lodge should the weather be adverse. The showers, toilets and kitchen area is here, there are charging points for phones and some games.
The pods were not large enough for 2 adults and 2 small children as advertised and they would benefit from a table inside.
The site accepts dogs, unfortunately not everyone picked up after their animal and I didn’t like the idea of my child running around in the presence of so many terriers.
The Kitchen had plenty of fridge space, a microwave, kettle and toaster, when you consider there could be upwards of 50 people using this it was far too small. The local cafe does drop off which is a bonus. There was free tea and coffee provided.
The phone charging plugs are based in the floor, half didn’t work and it didn’t seem like a good idea leaving a phone on charge with kids running around, you also had to stay with it.
The bathrooms were disgusting and were a combined shower and toilet, the shower sprayed over the bin and toilet, they didn’t drain and therefore any one who had been and missed provided sewerage to wade in whilst trying to get changed.
The owner gave a full refund after we left, one night was more than enough.
