Reasons for trip

I must have seen St Michael’s Mount from afar about 20 times over the years that I have visited Cornwall but I have never been there when the tide was out and have never made the boat trip over there. My visit in July was the first time my son, his family and I decided to take the boat out to visit and I can only say “why did I wait so long!” What a lovely day out it was.

Although it looks like a castle it has a homely “lived in” feel to it. They have a quiz for children which my grandson did with enthusiasm and earned himself a medal as we left.

Each room is beautifully ornate and there is so much history to the place that it can take ages to wander around. The only drawback was the cobbles (and I use that term lightly as these were more like huge stones) and these are on every path and driveway on the island. I wouldn’t have thought it was very good for the disabled or for wheelchairs or pushchairs but if you are able bodied do visit, it is fabulous!
