St Alban’s Cathedral dominates the skyline. We went on a hot sunny day and found that there is a new entrance around the back of the cathedral. We first headed for the eating area which was, surprisingly, not at all crowded. The food, though limited, was fine. ( I would also add that the toilets were spotless.)
There is, in place, a one way system around the cathedral that worked well. There is an up to date picture concerning ‘Black lives matter.’ The story of the cathedral is laid out in a manner that is easy to follow, with special passages for children to read. There were enormous puppet figures that are carried in processions that amuse the children. Lovely stain glass windows that were opened by Princess Diana and lots of marble figures to admire.
You could easily spend an hour in the cathedral and well worth a visit.
