The SS Great Britain and its associated museum are a fantastic day out. The ship itself is a wonderful piece of history. You can see the hull within the dry dock, underneath a glass protective screen, whilst you can go on board and see all the different decks, cabins, kitchens, dining room, storage areas, and even a replica engine. The museum shows the timeline from the original building of the ship in the very same dry dock it is now berthed in, to its final days off the coast of The Falkland Islands, before being rescued and returned to Bristol.
