Mayrhofen is a lovely little town with lots of cafes and bars and we stayed at the Sporthotel Strass for 7 days. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the cleanliness of the place goes without question in Austria. There is a good indoor swimming pool and a superb (nude) spa. We did not venture into the spa too much, although we did try the sole bath, which is a salt water jacuzzi for personal use for 30 minutes. The hotel gave us a voucher for that as they originally gave us a room that was not what we had paid for. The recompense was a 20 euro voucher for both of us to use the spa. The Strass us a huge hotel with lots of rooms and apartments. Thre are 12 dining rooms so the waiter told us. Although it is so big, it is not a daunting hotel, however some people might prefer a smaller hotel. It is not our choice to be in a big impersonal hotel. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definately return to Mayrhofen on another occasion.
