My friend recommended this restaurant called Spice and Stone located in broadclyst in Devon. She had been with her husband for a meal, and said it was the best Indian restaurant food she had tasted, so it came with great recommendations.
We booked a table for 4 people, and we arrived with our two friends with great expectations!
The restaurant looked like it had been converted from cottages into this lovely relaxing space. It appeared to have a couple of seating areas, ours had a feature fireplace. It was a very cold evening outside, but the restaurant was warm and cosy.
The menu was extensive, and there were many dishes that we’d never seen before, so choosing our options took us a while because we were spoilt for choice. I opted for king prawns and fish cooked with onions peppers etc in a clay oven. I shared naan bread and rice with my husband because the portion size was generous. The dish was so scrumptious. My husband had a mixture of dishes that were popular with other clients. It again was a good choice. He had chicken, lamb, king prawns all with vegetables cooked in the clay oven. He loved his meal too. Our friends had meals from the specials board, and they like us, were very impressed.
We enjoyed wine with the meal, which was of an average price for a restaurant. The bill for the food worked out to about £15/£18 a head, which for the quality was good.
We will definitely return, it was a really enjoyable evening, with very friendly waiters/ owners, who did everything they could to oblige.
