This is a large low grey building above road at head of bay. The receptionist was abrupt and more interested in her computer screen than us.

Ask for an even numbered room as they have a ‘view of the harbour’ across the car park and house roofs. Odd numbered rooms look out to the back with no view.

We had a big well lit room with 2 double beds with bedside cabinets, table, 2 chairs, chest drawers with TV. There was a working area with light and wireless internet. There was a separate bathroom area with effective shower. The room was serviced each day but not vacuumed. I would describe this as more motel than hotel. Continental breakfast (toast, muffins, fruit juice) was $3.45 extra. Supper was served 5-7. Menu didn’t look inspiring and dining room looked soulless.

There isn’t a lot of choice – this is the only place listed in the Newfoundland Accommodation register for the Harbour Breton area.
